This training moment is focused on the safe Connection and Disconnection of LNG Cargo and Vapour Arms highlighting the dangers for those who are on manifolds, the procedure of draining and purging and the proper use of gas meters, personal protective equipment and other safety tools.
Theodoros Sakaleros took the initiative to gather information and present a thorough process of connection and disconnection of the LNG Carriers cargo manifolds. An explanatory process of connection and disconnection before and after loading and discharging was given. He showed on diagrams and on real pictures various positions of valves and systems including PERC, presentation flanges, the ESD, double shut valves and summarized the steps of blind removal, atmosphere or leakage checks and N2 purging.
