On 18 June 2021, Capt. Aldo Ugo, Marine Oil Terminal Superintendent, gave an excellent presentation to Minerva Marine Officers and Shore-based Marine Personnel for the CIOT Terminal in Trieste. The CIOT terminal is of strategic importance for the supply of crude oil to a number of refineries in central Europe and Minerva Marine managed oil tankers frequently call to discharge their cargo.
The seminar covered many operational areas, such as the pre-mooring safety meeting, the emission controls in place, the handling of crude oils with a high level of hydrogen sulfide in the liquid phase and the detection of oil spills.
